CHANNEL BANK ASSEMBLY
Inteleflex is an advanced network transmission product that can significantly
increase the capacity of access networks. The Inteleflex system consists of two
basic elements — the Central Digital Terminal (CDT), located in the Central
Office, and the Remote Digital Terminal (RDT), located at the far end.
The 19-in. channel bank assembly may be deployed as either a CDT or RDT and
to accommodate a maximum of 2,016 channels per system. Each 19-in. channel
bank assembly has 24 slots — two power supply slots, two central processing
slots and 20 general purpose slots serving as a 144-line network node providing
multiple services. The Inteleflex platform provides a migration path for the
communication provider from copper to fiber, circuit to packet and any
combination of network elements.
The system is designed with a high-speed hybrid TDM/Cellbus
®
backplane,
inter-shelf connectivity and shared system intelligence. The Inteleflex system
optimizes bandwidth by means of proprietary bandwidth management
technology. Revolutionary proprietary algorithms result in 40 subscribers,
simultaneously off-hook, over a single twisted copper pair and 80 over a
single T-1.
